John 15:9-10 - As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Now remain in my love. 10 If you obey my commands, you will remain in my love, just as I have obeyed my Father's commands and remain in his love.

Who is Jesus Christ?

"For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall have eternal life." John 3:16

The Bible clearly teaches that Jesus is the center of all things that the Father purposed to do for the salvation of the human race. It is in Jesus that we find forgiveness of our sins, a new relationship with God, and the fellowship with our local church family and believers all over the world.

"These (the promises) are in accordance with the working of the strength of His (God’s) might which He brought about in Christ, when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places, far above all rule and authority and power and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in the one to come. And He put all things in subjection under His feet, and gave Him as head over all things to the church, which is His body, the fullness of Him who fills all in all." Eph. 1:19-23

It is only through the grace of Jesus Christ that anyone is ever saved. We access this grace by an ardent and obedient faith in the One who gave Himself freely for us on Calvary's cross. Christ did the work that we could not do - lived a sinless life before God. This made Him our perfect sacrifice to take away sins.

First century seekers, after hearing the good news and believing on His name, repented of their former way of life, and were immersed in water (baptized) for the remission of their sins. They answered the call of Peter, the apostle, and other preachers of the gospel who commanded them to "repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit." Acts 2:38

We at the Canyon Church desire to proclaim the gospel (good news) of Jesus Christ in the same way the early apostles, prophets, and preachers did in New Testament times. If there is any way we can assist you in living a life for Christ, please call upon us. We want to help you to "call upon the name of the Lord." Rom. 10:13
